Day 5: Surrendering What You Can't Control
Reading: Proverbs 3:5-6; Romans 8:28; 2 Corinthians 12:7-10
Devotional: Surrender sounds beautiful until life gets real. Until you've prayed for years without an answer. Until the marriage doesn't heal, the child doesn't return, the diagnosis doesn't change. Gethsemane isn't just a historical location; it's a spiritual reality we all face—a place where we ask God for something good, yet Heaven seems silent. True surrender isn't getting what you want; it's trusting God when you don't. It's praising Him when the answer isn't what you asked for. Anyone can worship when prayers are answered, but it requires deep faith to say, "God, I still trust You" when you don't understand, don't feel Him, and can't see the way forward. What are you holding onto that you can't control anyway? Surrender doesn't always change your circumstances, but it allows God to change you through them.
