Day 3: When Faith Costs Everything

Reading: Matthew 26:36-46; Hebrews 5:7-9

Devotional: In Gethsemane, Jesus faced the ultimate test: surrender when obedience becomes painful. Three times He prayed for another way, yet each time concluded, "Not my will, but yours be done." This is where faith becomes real—not in the comfortable moments, but when saying yes to God costs us everything. We want understanding before obedience; Jesus modeled obedience without all the answers. His disciples couldn't even stay awake during His darkest hour, yet He pressed forward alone. Your Gethsemane moment may not involve a cross, but it will require surrender. It's that diagnosis, that broken relationship, that unanswered prayer stretching into years. Faith isn't believing God will give you what you want; it's trusting Him when He doesn't.
