Day 4: The Blood That Saves
Reading: Exodus 12:1-13; 1 Corinthians 5:7; 1 Peter 1:18-19
Devotional: The Passover lamb had to be perfect—without blemish or defect. Its blood marked the doorposts, and death passed over those homes. Over a thousand years later, Jesus shared the Passover meal knowing He was the ultimate fulfillment of this ancient symbol. John called Him "the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world." Just as the Israelites were rescued from plague by the blood of an innocent lamb, we are rescued from sin and death by the blood of the perfect Lamb. The disciples didn't fully understand what Jesus meant when He said, "This is my body... this is my blood." But we stand on the other side of the cross, knowing His sacrifice was complete. You are marked by His blood. Death has passed over you.
